Christmas Fun--Part 3

I'm finally getting around to posting our pictures from Christmas Eve and Christmas Day! Yay! We spent Christmas Eve evening with Tracy, Derek, and Kendra at their house. Caleb and I picked up Outback To-Go for dinner and then we opened presents!

This boy had a stack that was as tall as him! 😂

We let Henry open all of his first so that he didn't have to wait for us and he could play with his new stuff while we opened our gifts. And is there anything more fun than watching a kid open presents?!

Getting help from Nana on the big ones! :)

It's hard to say what Henry's favorite gift was because he really loved everything he got, but this basketball goal is definitely a front runner!
I've got to brag on Tracy and my mom for a minute; they were really cognizant of the fact that we don't have a ton of room and didn't want a bunch of junky toys, so they put a lot of consideration into what they bought for Henry and did a GREAT job! At Tracy and Derek's he got a guitar and stuffed animal from Kendra, the basketball goal, a Pottery Barn beanbag chair for his new room, some clothes, several Melissa & Doug toys (we love anything Melissa & Doug!), a car ramp, and a few little things in his stocking. We got home a little late and had to hurry to put Henry to bed. We had to get busy for the next morning!

Henry's gifts and stocking were waiting for him on Christmas morning! We got the camera set up and then got him out of bed.

I found this Little People construction site on Black Friday for $20, and I thought Henry might like it. We took it out of the box and got it set up and couldn't wait to see his face when he saw it. Well...he ended up loving it so much that he wouldn't open his other presents! 😂 It ended up being 1.5-2 hours before he would unwrap anything else. I went ahead and made breakfast and we ate before he had opened a present. Silly boy! We just went with it and let him play. Why force a kid to open presents if he's not interested?? I have a feeling that lack of enthusiasm for unwrapping gifts will change in a year or two!

Caleb was trying to entice him to open a present and Henry wouldn't stop talking about/showing him the crane on the construction site. Hahaha! He surprised and impressed us when we said something about how long the arm on the crane was and he said "Yeah! Boom!" We asked if a boom is what the arm is called and he said "Yep!" We are always amazed by the stuff he remembers!

My parents have a rice bin that my mom made when I was like 6 years old, and Henry loves it so much that I made one for him. He was so excited!

FINALLY opening his stocking, and look at his loving gaze at the M&M's. 😂

We gave Henry several books, two puzzles, and some art supplies along with the construction site and the rice bin. He also got a few little toys and treats in his stocking.

We had the pleasure of having Caleb's dad, Dion, with us over Christmas weekend, and loved getting to have him for Christmas morning. This visit was really the most time Henry's spent with Dion and now he ADORES his Granddaddy! Kendra came over for breakfast, and then they left before Henry's nap. When he woke up, it was time to head to my parents house!

Again, we let the kids open presents first, and Henry wanted Papa and Mimi to help him!

Amanda's MIL gave Henry a pair of pajamas that matched the ones she bought her grandkids, so he was able to match his cute cousins! And yes, it was 4:00 in the afternoon and the kids were all still in pajamas. Is it even Christmas if you don't stay in jammies all day?!

Henry got a Magna Doodle from Amanda and Stephen, and then my parents bought him a Duplo construction set, some Color Wonder art supplies, a book, the bedding that I picked out for his new bed, several Disney movies, and there may have been a couple other things that I can't remember. He got some snacks and candy in his stocking, some bath stuff, a few little toys, and all the kids got McDonald's gift cards since they all love Happy Meals. 😂

The kids all ran off to play and we were left to open our presents!

Two nerds and their Nest thermostats. 😂😂😂

Our family's tradition is to get Five Guys for our Christmas dinner, and it was SO GOOD like always! After we ate, the adults played a few rounds of Headbandz while Henry (and eventually the girls) painted.

Then it was time for our "Happy Birthday Jesus" cake! My mom got a cookie cake at Publix this year and it was delish! Each kid blew out a candle (multiple times), and then...
 ...we ate! Mmmm!

We went home around Henry's bedtime, put him to bed, and then Caleb and I crashed too. We'd had a very busy, but wonderful, Christmas season! I told Caleb that the craziest thing to think about is not that we'll have a baby in 3 months, but that we'll have an 8 month old next Christmas! That thought is still boggling my mind. This was the most wonderful holiday season and I have a feeling the next one will be even more fun!
