Claire is ONE!

I CANNOT believe that Claire is a year old! There are not enough words to describe this girl, or how much we love her. She is such a ray of sunshine in our home and she brings the party and the personality wherever she goes! She keeps us so busy with her curiosity and sense of adventure and she never stops exploring (aka doing things she shouldn't be doing 😂). She's a thrill seeker and loves heights, spinning until she's dizzy, and hanging upside down. She has a fiery temper and lets us know (often!) when we've done something she doesn't like. But she's also extremely affectionate; she gives kisses and hugs ALL THE TIME, and loves to be held and cuddled.

Over the last few weeks, Claire has started talking a ton! She says "wawa", "bye", "hi", "uh-oh", "p-boo", "book", "pop", "thank you", "kitty cat", "dada", and "mama" on her own and then will repeat several more things. She took her first steps about two weeks ago, but in the last couple of days she's begun walking more than she crawls. She has 3.5 teeth (2 bottom center and 1 top tooth with the other coming in). She looks like a little hillbilly with her one top tooth and it makes us laugh so hard. She adores animals, her big brother, and food of all kinds. She is spunky and funny and sweet and we all love her like crazy! We had originally planned to have a party this Saturday, but since that can't happen, we had a low-key celebration at home. And honestly, she loved it just as much! We started the morning with breakfast and presents. We gave Claire a set of baby dolls...

 

...a stuffed dog that looks like Henry's dog, Spot...

...and a set of Baby Believer books. 

 

We had pizza for lunch, followed by cupcakes that Henry and I made while Claire napped.

 

These initial reactions KILL ME! I literally can't stop laughing at these pictures. That is one happy girl!

 

I bought little cupcake boxes so that we could give cupcakes to our family members who came by, and when Mimi and Papa pulled up, Henry was ready to hand them out!

 

We visited with my parents for a few minutes and opened some presents they got Claire...

 

...and then after naps, Amanda, Stephen, and their kids came by. It was so nice to see them, even if it was from the car!

 

Nana and Derek came by in the evening and brought a whole bunch of nice gifts...

 

...and then we finished the day with a spaghetti dinner! 

It was such a great day all about the most special girl we know. We are so blessed that Claire is ours!
