Christmas Fun--Part 2

I had a lot of fun planning Christmas activities that were age appropriate for Henry, and this one was a hit! I drew the Christmas tree and cut it out on green construction paper, and then Henry decorated it with ornament stickers I picked up at Hobby Lobby. He was so proud of his finished tree!

On this particular morning, Henry found a note in his advent calendar to bake Christmas cookies. I look forward to baking from scratch with my kids one day, but we picked up these Pillsbury place & bake snowman cookies, and they were the perfect option for Henry at this age.
He helped put them on the cookie sheet...
...and then we got to try them a few minutes later!

The Sunday before Christmas we went down the Centreville for our annual Christmas with Caleb's extended family. Our first stop was lunch with his mom's family. They get pizza every year, which makes it my favorite kind of family gathering! 😊 We had fun exchanging gifts and visiting with family, and then we headed to the Horton Christmas.

Caleb's dad was in town from Canada, and we were so excited to see him! We opened more presents and just enjoyed each other's company. It was such a good day with loved ones!
Daddy Wayne took Henry on a tractor ride and of course he LOVED it!

We attempted to decorate a gingerbread house one night, but it was a total failure. 😂

The house kept collapsing, and eventually we just gave up. We just put globs of icing all over the pile and Henry kept putting candy in it. Haha!

We visited Horseshoe Trail to see the Christmas lights, and Henry loved it as much as he did last year! These pictures make me laugh because we literally COULD NOT get him to stand still long enough to take a good picture. He was way too excited!

This is our favorite picture. It perfectly sums up Henry's experience with the lights. 😂😂😂😂

On the Sunday the 23rd, we attended a wonderful Highlands Christmas service with family, and then came back to our house for our annual night of hot chocolate and games. We didn't remember to take pictures until after Amanda and Stephen had left, but we had such a fun night full of food, fun, and laughter! I found a Family Feud card game at Dollar Tree and it actually ended up being SO fun to play with a group. We played a couple rounds of that, followed by the Saran Wrap ball game, and ended the night by reading "'Twas the Night Before Christmas".
Nathan read for us this year. :)

Next up...Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!
