Family Fun Day--Creative Discovery Museum

For our 7th anniversary, Caleb and I thought it would be fun to go to Chattanooga for the day. We had talked earlier in the summer about going to the aquarium, and then we wanted to eat at J. Alexander's for our anniversary, so this seemed like the perfect time to go do both. We actually ended up foregoing the aquarium to go to the Creative Discovery Museum, which was really highly ranked on TripAdvisor. It's a children's museum with all kinds of hands on activities and exhibits, and we thought Henry would enjoy it. We went to the 8 o'clock service at church that morning, and then we hit the road afterwards.

Outside the museum they had this giant bubble wand thing and you could stand on the little platform and try to encase yourself in a bubble. 😂

They had a huge indoor playground which Henry loved.

There was an area set up as a little house, and Henry had a great time playing pretend!

I was impressed that Henry knew how to iron...he definitely hasn't seen that often! 😂

There was a little music studio where Henry played the drums...

...and a really fun workshop area for little kids. Henry LOVED hammering these golf tees into the styrofoam and I'm going to try to duplicate it at home for him.

This was probably Henry's favorite thing. There was a fan under this tube and there were empty plastic bottles and grocery bags that had been made into parachutes, and you put the bag into the tube and watched it fly out. Henry caught it over and over again and had so much fun!

She couldn't enjoy the museum yet, but Claire was happy to be along for the ride!

We liked the museum overall, but we probably won't be going back anytime soon. They had a lot to do, but everything seemed pretty old and dirty. We also probably would have thought it was a little nicer if we hadn't just visited the Perot Museum in Dallas last fall. This was like a very, very, VERY low budget version of that.

We finished up at the museum and went for a walk on this old bridge before our dinner reservation. It was SO HOT outside, but the view was really nice!

7 years as husband and wife! What fun we've had, and we've only just begun!

This was the only picture that was taken at dinner. We'd had such a good day up until this point, but Caleb and I were starting to really regret taking two kids along for our anniversary dinner. 😂 Four hot, tired, and hungry people don't make for a fun time! But we still had a delicious meal, followed by some delicious chocolate cake.

All in all we had a great day together and made some sweet memories. Little did we know on our wedding day what beautiful blessings the next 7 years would hold! Looking forward to so many more!
