Easter 2022

Easter just so happened to be the Sunday after Claire's birthday this year. I love when Easter is later in April and we have more time to relish in it! Needless to say, this was a busy weekend for us as we crammed in all the birthday and Easter festivities at the same time.

We dyed eggs, which was a very interesting experiment in emerging personality differences. Henry, the perfectionist, was never quite happy with the coloring he achieved, despite spending much more time than Claire. She on the other hand dipped her eggs in various colors, loved it no matter what shade it turned, and was done in a matter of minutes. 😂 And look at the sweet baby smiling at the camera! He sat and happily watched big brother and sister.
The kids got baths on Easter morning before church, and then we let them have their baskets. They each got a new pool towel since we'll be spending lots of time swimming this summer, and Henry and Claire got goggles for their swim lessons. They each got a set of small gardening tools since they seem to always be fighting over those, a new Easter book, stickers, chalk, bubbles, and George got his first box of Band-Aids. :) And then they each got a little bit of candy!

All dressed up and ready for church!
We went to Tracy and Derek's house for a yummy lunch afterwards, and managed to get a semi-decent family photo 😜...
...and a rare photo of the two of us together!

After naps, my family + Tracy and Derek came over for an Easter egg hunt and dinner. We changed up our egg hunt this year and instead of filling the eggs with candy, most of them contained puzzle pieces. The kids had to assemble the puzzle to get their first clue to set them on a scavenger hunt!

This was my idea so I might just be biased, but I thought it was so fun! I wrote little poem clues and hid them in various spots, and then the "treasure" was hidden in the piano bench. I think the kids had fun, and I hardly got any pictures of them where they were semi-still. They were hunting hard!
Their prizes at last! They each had a little goody bag with chocolate bunnies, bubbles, and a Yogurt Mountain gift card. It was so fun! We got pizza for dinner and enjoyed each other's company for a couple of hours, and then it was time to end our fun filled weekend!

It was a wonderful Easter weekend!
