2018 Review

I had so much fun reading my 2017 Review from last year that I knew I wanted to do it again this year! 2018 was an exciting year for us; we travelled, played hard, made new friends, enjoyed lazy days at home, made lots of memories, and had FUN! I quit my job at the end of 2017, so this was my first year as a stay-at-home-mom and I couldn't have loved it more! Not a day goes by that I'm not grateful for this opportunity and privilege to be home with Henry, even on the long days. We saw Henry go through so much growth and change this year. His personality developed so much and he discovered many new interests and preferences. We've had the BEST time watching him grow! Since a picture is worth a thousand words, I'm going to share a BUNCH of pictures, although no amount of pictures or words could sufficiently sum up the fantastic year we had! Here's a look back on our 2018!

-January-
We continued our tradition of ringing in the new year in Marietta at Paul and Desiree's house. I love ending one year and starting another in a place and with people we love so much!

We started our year with some warm days that allowed us to get outside and play. There's no where else Henry would rather be than outside!

We spent a day in Nashville visiting old friends and eating a delicious dinner at one of our favorite restaurants.

Nothing like seeing your baby try to fit into a walker to make you realize how big he's gotten! 😂

We went to Henry's 15 month checkup and he discovered that the sink is the best toy in the office.😜

We got our only snow of the year in January, and Henry didn't really know what to think about it. I'm hoping we'll get some this year because I think he would LOVE it now!

-February-
We had unseasonably warm weather for a couple weeks and got to play outside in shorts and t-shirts.

Henry had his first bite of chocolate on Valentine's Day...

...and we celebrated Caleb's 28th birthday.

We took our sweet boy to the Georgia Aquarium and loved watching his excitement!

-March-
Henry's obsession with lawn equipment hit in full force...

...and he fell in love with a bubble mower. :)

The summer of popsicles commenced in March, and they became a staple in our house!

We spent more time outside (get used to this constant throughout the year! LOL)

These two cousins fought hard and loved hard. 😂

Back when spot was young and fluffy. Haha!

We got dressed up for Easter, and Henry looked SO handsome!

-April-

We started the month celebrating Easter at Tracy and Derek's house...

...followed by a cousin Easter egg hunt that evening at our house.

We fed the ducks at Big Spring Park....

...played in the rain...

...and spent lots of time in the play house we bought Henry.

We waited several weeks to see these baby robins hatch, and they were a welcomed sign that Spring had arrived!

We wrapped up the month by celebrating my birthday, and Henry was thrilled to get a piece of cookie cake!

-May-

We kicked off May with swim lessons at the YMCA...

...lots of time outside...

...and Henry discovered a crazy love for trains!
'

We went to Atlanta over Memorial Day weekend to see Hamilton...

...and went to a pool party at my Aunt Kyle's!

We celebrated Mother's Day with lunch at Firehouse Subs (sidenote: my obsession is still strong at the end of 2018!)

...tried ice cream for the first time...

...went to Lyon Family Farms...

...and had ducks move in for the month!

We had family over all summer long, and loved getting outside and playing together!

-June-

Henry had his first haircut and we had to say goodbye to these sweet curls. Luckily his hair continued to curl in the heat and humidity!

We spent several hot summer days at Barnes and Noble...

...as well as lots of time outside doing water activities to beat the heat.

Henry loved spending time "working" with his Papa in the yard and in the garage.

The highlight of our month was a family beach trip. We enjoyed a week of relaxing and making memories together!

-July-

July was a pretty low-key month for us. We played outside and ate popsicles...

...celebrated the Fourth of July with family, food, and sparklers...

...and mowed the grass A LOT!

We got free Chick-fil-A for cow appreciation day...

...and Henry and I enjoyed lots of afternoon dates to Yogurt Mountain!

-August-

We started our month in the BEST way...with a faintly positive pregnancy test!

We spent a Saturday morning on Monte Sano Mountain...

...and spent our evenings playing in the yard.

Henry found a new favorite hobby...digging holes in the garden with Papa! 😂

We became story-time regulars at the library, with cousin lunch dates afterwards at McDonalds. :)

-September-
September found me in clutches of the first trimester, and this pretty much sums up how I felt. 😂

Despite me feeling like a zombie, we did have two fun adventures. We went to the Birmingham Zoo with Mamaw and Daddy Wayne (how cool is it to do stuff like this with your GREAT-grandparents??)...

...and then ended our month in San Antonio! Our trip to Texas was definitely one of the highlights of the year!

-October-

We wrapped up our Texas trip in Dallas, and came home with stories and memories that we'll treasure forever!

We went pumpkin picking at Tate Farms... (twice!)

...and had the best time celebrating our favorite boy on his 2nd birthday!

We enjoyed cool fall days at home...

 ...and with family!

And we wrapped up the month with our train conductor on Halloween!

-November-

November brought some freezing cold temperatures, and days outside were few and far between...

...but we entertained ourselves inside by making treats...

 ...playing trains...

...and reading books.

We spent a wonderful Thanksgiving in Marietta...

...and Henry got to get up close and personal with some construction vehicles!

We picked out our Christmas tree when we got home and it was the perfect start to our holiday season!

-December-

Aside from all the Christmas festivities, December consisted of lots of drawing...

...movies on the couch...

...WAY too many treats... :)

...and progress in Henry's big boy room!

We spent lots of sweet time together as a family on Christmas...

...and then ended our year the way we began it; in GA at Paul and Desiree's house!

We filled 2018 with so many special moments and precious memories that I'll carry with me forever. Now we look to 2019 with great anticipation and excitement for what's in store!
